Perak MB vs MB - Palace of Justice

The crowd waiting for the court’s decision was rather boastful. The Barisan supporters in orange and the Pakatan Rakyat supporters chose to be “colourless” were taunting each other with their chants like charlatans.

The outcome of the court’s decision from the people was a mix.

Chegu Bard, as he is popularly known gave his opinion and what Pakatan Rakyat would do next.

It was an experience really to see the enthusiasm from the two sides at the Palace of Justice on the 09 Feb 2010.

Duta Court - Sodomy II - 05 February 2010

The police officers guarding the entrance of the court house were polite to explain the reason why those with cameras were refused entry. The first day of Sodomy II hearing was a bad experience because the lobby was overwhelmed by supporters and news makers.

The news of police trucks and FRU arrived with water canon at Duta Court ahead of the 2.00 p.m. march planned by DSAI’s supporters from Masjid Wilayah was exciting indeed.

Unfortunately, the afternoon hearing was postponed to Monday and the excitement simmered. Nevertheless, the news makers were hanging around so were the police and FRU officers.

Nothing exciting and by 2.45 p.m. everyone went their own way.

To catch up with the latest happening, those interested should visit Dewan Keadilan Ibupejabat PKR Tropicana on 07 February 2010 at 8.30 p.m. to hear what DSAI has to tell.

Taipusam

The grand silver-chariot left for Batu Caves on the eve (29 January 2010) passing by Chinatown. The madness was the crowd itself where worshippers and tourists alike thronged the roads that the chariot was scheduled to pass.

The image of Lord Muruga on a silver chariot punctuated along the four kilometers route to Batu Caves, stopping where there were coconuts to be smashed on the road.

Pick-pockets had a busy night racking in on unsuspected victims (I was one of those got “hacked”).

Taipusam is celebrated on the 10th month of the Hindu calendar, which falls in January or February each year. It is a day of penance and thanksgiving for the Hindus, and this festival is celebrated in honour of Lord Muruga (also known as Lord Subramaniam).

Hindus believe that sins can be cleansed during Thaipusam, and the believers who take part in the festival prepare themselves by cleansing their bodies through fasting and abstinence, usually observing a vegetarian diet for a certain period of time.

Cow’s milk in silver urns was the common sight and the devotees walk with Lord Muruga.

It is all about one’s faith in the Lord where resilience prevails.

It was about 3.30 in the morning and the crowd began to stream into the temple at Batu Caves.

To be continued.
