Four Down And More To Come?

It is just unbelievable to learn that not only Datuk Chua Jui Ming has to suffer the injustice of having his Datuk Seri title revoked by the Sultan of Johor but also the other three recipients.

What our country has become is just sickening.

I beg to defer with many of the comments written by sympathetic readers telling Datuk Chua to return what is no more his. It is a practical suggestion but without knowing why is really painful.

The way how Datuk Chua handles the situation is important to keep his self-esteem and dignity harnessed at the same time. He earned the award and is definitely painful to part with it.

If the award is bought and the recipient has to return, it is just the money lost. But the sad case is through one’s contribution for the nation that comes to nothing!

The most important of all is that the mentioned recipients have their rights to know the reason why they are subjugated by such injustice. It is not a matter about the prerogative of the sultan but his reputation to be just in his revocation.

So, to Datuk Chua Jui Ming, Sharifah Mazlina Syed Abdul Kadir, Shaftdean Lufty Rusland and Hassan Yunos, we fellow Malaysians understand your predicament and the best thing to do is to comply and move on.

Such unfortunately incident really leaves a bad taste for the country and for the rakyat to come out with more snide remarks.
