Is This Civil Disobedience?

PERAK – the silver state is the longest geographical state in the country.
For Perakians, the 7th.May 2009 has become the historical day for them over what had taken place in the state assembly. The tussle between the Barisan government and Pakatan Rakyat over who is the legitimate state government had brought people out in the street.
The people know that by taking to the street, they have become the “protesters” who will likely have to pay for the consequences for their actions. But, are they the protesters or just members of the civil society showing their civil disobedience to what they know they have their rights to assemble for a purpose?

The hostile take over by the Barisan government on the legitimate state government led by Pakatan Mentri Besar reflects on the idea that the Perakians should ever compromise or tolerate such act of betrayal over the choice of the people.

Democracy works only when a community is able to accept what is correctly done by the government with the understanding that it will abide by what the majority desires.
The majority is from the people who want the PAS Mentri Besar to govern the state and that is their clarion call.

The 7th. May did not see only Perakians went down the street, but people from the various states came to show support for YB Mohd.Nisar.

In order to thwart the show of support for the legitimate Mentri Besar, the police came down hard on the people.

I will not dispute over what had happened in Ipoh on the 7th. May. I will say it was encouraging and correct to arrest the young and old, men and women.

This will be the additional nail to seal the BN fate because the people were there peacefully and returned home angrier!
