Legend has it that the first person to drink tea was a man named, Shien Non Shei, who one day took his wife and children mountain climbing. During the climb Shien Non Shei became quite thirsty and while he was feeling thirsty a leaf drifted onto his foot. He picked this leaf up and twisted the leaf with his fingers. The juice of the leaf went on to his fingers and he tasted the juice with his tongue. The taste of the juice was quite bitter, so Shien Non Shei felt that this leaf could have medicinal properties and could help quench thirst, when brewed. Thus, according to legend he was the first individual to drink tea.

Persatuan Dialisis Touch - Needs Your Support
HAEMODIALYSIS – Giving lives a chance at life.
Pusat Dialisis Touch was established by Persatuan Dialisis Touch Petaling Jaya, Selangor (PDT), an NGO registered with the Registrar of Society. Its purpose is to support the Malaysian Government’s call to set up more dialysis centres to cater for the increasing number of kidney failure patients.
Haemodialysis is the best hope to keep patients with failed kidneys alive until they can receive a kidney transplant.
PDT is grateful to all donors and supporters who have contributed generously. We now have a centre that is equipped with modern facilities to house patients in separate treatment rooms for Hepatitis B and C patients.
The centre has the capacity to treat 60 patients and we offer them free consultation of nephrologist and free basic blood test. The first patient intake was on 1st. December 2007.
Patients will undergo the 4-hour treatment thrice a week. Each treatment costs RM110.00 and we help them to apply for the government subsidy of RM50.00 each. If patients have difficulty with the balance of RM60.00, we will aid them through a special sponsorship programme to ensure that they get the treatment they need.
VISION
Giving end-stage kidney failure patients a chance at life.
MISSION
To serve the community by alleviating the life-long financial burden of the lower, to the middle-income earners with kidney failure irrespective of race, religion or creed.
COMMITMENT
To provide affordable and high quality dialysis treatments for the patients.
To solicit contributions to finance the centre’s operation and to provide financial aid to those who could not afford.
To raise funds for kidney transplant.
