XINJIANG RIOT

URUMQI, July 6 (Xinhua) - Xinjiang Communist Party of China (CPC) chief Wang Lequan said Monday the riot in Urumqi revealed the violent and terrorist nature of the separatist World Uyghur Congress leader Rebiya Kadeer.

"The riot has destroyed the spiritual support with which the terrorist, separatist and extremist forces cheated the people to participate in the so-called 'Jihad'," Wang said in an interview with Xinjiang TV.

"The incident also revealed Rebiya's nature of fake human rights, fake democracy, true violence and true terrorism," he said.

Wang called the riot a profound lesson learned in blood and said all Party members should take the strongest measures to deal with the enemies' attempt at sabotage and keep regional stability.

"We must always bear in mind that national unity is our lifeline," he said.

Netizens condemn biased reporting on riots.

BEIJING, July 9 -- Netizens slammed some Western media, including CNN, for biased reporting about the riots in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, which left 156 people dead.

After analyzing the structure, selection of sources, and wording choice, some netizens urged Western media to stop repeating their mistakes in covering the Lhasa riots last year.

Some western media blamed the government and security forces for the violence, without even mentioning the brutal killings by those rioters, netizens said. The CNN report, "Unrest among Uyghur residents in China" (July 7, 2009), mainly used one anonymous witness and a spokesman for the World Uyghur Congress as the news source, portraying the event as a bloody crackdown over the peaceful protestors.

The Most Poisonous

The Top Ten most poisonous animals carry harmful chemicals called toxins. Usually, these toxins are used for defense, and are stored in the skin or in special glands that are designed to hurt, kill or slow down would-be predators. They deliver their toxins by stinging, stabbing, or biting.

Poisonous creatures have no intent to hurt other creatures, which is why they have bright colors and markings that send a clear message of its fatality.

If a predator ignores that warning, he might not get a second chance. One swallow, or even a little taste testing, and it is all over. The toxin will stop the heart or lungs from working and death will follow.
