The 31st. Asia Pacific Conference on East Timore II Participants. Each of them was awarded RM30,000 over their illegal detention by the police.

Today’s hearing into Gunasekaran’s inquest saw the police officers giving their testimony. Their body language was the tell-tale signs of discomfort when questioned by lawyer Visvanathan.
Out of the blues and to the surprise of many, Visvanathan asked the coroner for the locus in quo (to visit the place where the cause of action arose) wanting to ascertain what had actually taken place, because the photos given by the police are vague.
The coroner granted the request.
A warrant of arrest was issued for the absence of the arresting officer who was not in court this morning. The inquest was adjourned to tomorrow at 9.00 a.m.
