A Man Of Wisdom

The miasma of irritating controversies over the Perak crisis had tarred all and sundry with the same brush of disrespect over whom should be the legitimate mentri besar. No matter how we look at it, the state by-election is the best choice. Let the Perakians decide once and for all!

Reading “Stop wrecking the nation, says Ku Li” in malaysiakini, has shown how feckless UMNO has been over this issue. To save UMNO and Barisan Nasional, Ku Li is the manna to put some senses into UMNO denial over the people’s wishes.

"But the constitution is not just any law. It is the set of laws that founds our nation, defines its basic principles, guarantees our individual rights and prescribes the structures, duties, and powers which make a national community possible.”

"It is the foundation and source of the legal authority underlying the existence of Malaysia," added the former finance minister.

If such profound wisdom falls on deaf ears, then law of the jungle reigns supreme for the advent of multitude tirades over the power grabbing issue till kingdom come.

There are too many parvenus in Malaysian’s politics with important positions but without substance, so to speak.

One excellent example that speaks for itself was written by Jean. The focal points are retrieved but not the whole content.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said about five million pupils and 360,765 teachers from more than 10,000 schools would be mobilized to protest against Gaza offensive by Israeli forces.

He wanted to create a wave of pressure for the Israelis to stop their violence and oppression of Palestinian civilians.

When asked on the danger of exposing children to such atrocities, the minister said that when they grow up, they will have to face global issue like peace, environment and the economic crisis, as quoted in NST.

Does anyone give a thought how, as an education minister, he said nothing about the police harassment of the JERIT cyclists incident where most of them are young Malaysians?

Does this ring a bell?

The days of Tengku Abdul Rahman were over and for Tengku Razaleigh, all Malaysians have to take heed.
